I lit a candle for him on the one year mark. I cried my eyes out. I had my best friends around me, as we were all on a trip to Dublin, but that also made me cry less because I don't like crying amongst other people.
I've been doing good for quite a while, but lately started crying every single day again. I have some of his ashes in a nice looking bottle, and I've been sleeping with that the past few nights. I can't describe how much I miss him, and how much I need him to be here to talk to me and give me advice right now. My life is falling apart, and that's not anymore just because he's gone. I don't ever do anything right. And I feel like I'm hurting so many people in different ways.

Yes, the first anniversary is hard. My son left this earth October 8, 2009. Sometimes it seems like it was yesterday, and other times it seems like it was long ago. My mind plays games with me. We must learn to live with the happy memories and try not to dewell on the unhappy ones. I know this is not easy, but if we can do this, we will be able to find some comfort. My prayers go out to you. Just know that you are not alone.

I started this group on facebook because I wanted to make an accessible group for support. This group is ONLY for teenagers. It's really hard at school because people will say things like "kill me now" or "I'm just gonna kill myself" because of little things like low grades. So here's a group where people will understand what we're going through.
