Where's everyone from?

Just want to see where everyone is from, our ages and our families and who we lost and anything else you may want to add!

hope that's ok as I often read peoples posts and can't see who they've lost etc

I'm Julie , 36, from the UK, I have 3 gorgeous kids and I lost my ex partner of 14 years in July 2010,He hung himself, we'd only recently split up , my choice but for very good reasons but I still loved him, maybe not how I used to but how can you not when you've spent so long with someone!


Would love to know more about you all if you are upto that?

I am 58 years old, with two wonderful grown children- my son and daughter, ages 38 and 33. I have a most amazing grandson, Nicky, who is 3 years old. They make me want to keep a toe-hold on the planet every day. For that I am eternally thankful.

I am Valerie, 45. I live in Ohio. I lost my oldest son, Scott in 2007 when he was 17. He has 2 brothers, now 17 & 6.

Its been a rough road but Iam pouring myself into a prevention coalition and next month will begin facilitating survivor support groups for our mental health board and Partnership for Violence Free Families. I helps me to help others on a path I was all alone on until I found this forum.

It is nice to "meet" with a few more details, good thread.

I am Suzanne. I am 63 years old. I live in New York City. I lost Dave, my husband of 34 years, on 11/1/06.
We had a great marriage until the last few years. Dave suffered valiantly from untreatable depression for 8 years until he could bear it no longer.
We have two adult daughters, 27 and 31.

Gee whiz, my grief brain is so foggy today... forgot to say I'm in Southern California. I think. LOL

I am nickie . I am 24 years old and i live in michigan , just this past september 2010 my mother took her own life . she left behind me , my sister 29 and our younger brother 15. my mother was an alcoholic for as long as i can remember.. all that i can think and hope now that she is healthy , happy and no longer in pain .

I lived in singapore and am 32. I lost my mum on nov 2010. I have a first baby due July . It the first grandchild in my family. I have a feeling it a boy cos I rem we try to have baby for half year but no result, till one day I rub my wife tummy, and told her god will give us a son if u pray with me. Next month she pregnant.

If it son , I name him Joshua.

I am 55. San Antonio, Texas. Originally from Mexico City. Lost my wife Theresa. Have 2 kids from previous marriage boy 22 and girl 19. They are on their own. So I live alone except for my Boston terrier Canolli and my Chihuahua Rambo (long story on the names, maybe some other time)

I am Colleen. I am 49 years old and live in Victoria, British Columbia on the West Coast of Canada. I have 2 surviving children aged 23 and 21. My 16 year old son Liam hung himself Sept 4 , 2010. I have been married for 25 years. Liam was not diagnosed with any depression and I had no idea he was in so much pain.

I lost my 25 year old brother on the 9/9/2010 He hung himself, He had been depressed for about 2 years and I guess he couldn't see things getting any better, Missing him like crazy everyday.......
