* Our Memorial E-Book: Write Your Story *

Post by Karyl » Sat Feb 01, 2014 1:54 pm

Dear Friends,

Would you like to write the story of the person you lost to suicide to be published in a book with a collection of memorial stories?

Several of us are working together as a team to publish our first memorial e-book; it will be called Faces of Suicide. You are invited to contribute a story, or just a few of your memories, but first, read the information below. (Then, if you want to write the story, send an e-mail to me at cfofswga@cs.com and write STORY in the subject line. I will send the guidelines to you via e-mail.)

The Faces of Suicide E-Book will be a collection of stories (or memories) from the heart. Each story will be accompanied by a photo of the person.

Basically, anyone who has lost a friend or family member to suicide will just sit down and write the person's story. It may be a narrative, or it may be a story of special memories or even write a poem in memory.

Then, the person will follow directions for submitting the story and submit it.

Someone on the e-book team will send a note to you to let you know that we received your story. Then, our editors will check over it and fix any minor errors - typos, etc. (We will not change your story.) They will also format it correctly for e-book publication.

Each story will include one photo of the person under the title.

Note: You do not send the photo with the story. While you wait for the request for the photo, you should go through the photos you have and pick out the one you want to use so that it's ready when we need it.

You will be notified when it's time to send the photo in. (Photos will be cropped in a way that's similar to the photos on the Faces of Suicide site.)

After the stories are ready for publication, the book will be published by amazon and will be for sale on amazon. The cost of the book will be very inexpensive.

Love and peace,
Karyl, mother of Arlyn
